Curriculum Vitae
Ms. Leitereg is a patent attorney with over 18 years
of patent
preparation and prosecution experience. She also has a number of years
of experience in licensing and other transactions involving IP; and has
performed infringement and validity studies and patent portfolio due
diligence evaluations. Ms. Leitereg has prepared and prosecuted patent
applications in a wide variety of disciplines including the chemical,
pharmaceutical, biotechnology, nanotechnology, electrical and
mechanical arts.
Ms. Leitereg joined North Shore Associates in 1998 where
she
provides patent preparation and prosecution services to a variety of
corporate clients. Her portfolio of patent work includes technologies
such as oligonucleotide microarrays, biomolecular synthesis and assays,
ligand/receptor therapeutic biochemicals, mass spectrometry, scanning
fluorometry, liquid chromatography, medical devices, medical equipment,
tools and procedures, spacecraft control systems and spacecraft
subsystems, lasers, sensors, digital circuits, electronic devices and
packaging, batteries, solar cells, traveling wave tubes, adhesives,
coatings, liquid crystal displays, consumer electronics, semiconductor
fabrication and processing, printed circuit fabrication,
microelectronics and nanoelectronics.
Prior joining North Shore Associates, Ms.
Leitereg worked for Hughes
Electronics Corp. in Los Angeles, CA, as a patent attorney in
the Patents and Licensing Department from 1991 to 1998. During her
tenure at Hughes, she supported the Hughes Research Laboratories,
Commercial and Industrial Sector, Hughes Telecommunications and Space
Company, and Hughes Space and Communications Company, where she
counseled her clients on intellectual property protection; and drafted
and negotiated various agreements to protect intellectual property and
prepared and prosecuted patent applications for her clients. Before her
tenure at Hughes, Ms. Leitereg was a patent associate at the law firm
of Skjerven, Morrill, MacPherson, Franklin and Friel in San Jose, CA
from 1989 to 1991 where she received much of her initial patent
training.
Ms. Leitereg gained real-world technical experience working
at Hughes
Aircraft Company, Solid State Products Division, in Newport Beach, CA
in the late 1970
’s through the mid 1980’s as a Member of the
Technical Staff in the Advanced Hybrid Technology
Department, where she supported the R&D of a variety of
microelectronics projects. Ms. Leitereg has worked for Applied
Technology, Inc., a Division of Litton Systems, in San Jose, CA, in the
mid and late 1980’s as a Senior Process Engineer in the
Hybrid and Microwave Devices Department, where she supported
R&D, test, reliability and manufacturing departments in various
microelectronics projects.
Ms. Leitereg is admitted to practice law in the state of
California
and is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and
Trademark Office. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the
Los Angeles Intellectual Property Association, and the American
Chemical Society, as well as the State Bar of California.
